Caught in the Crosshairs: Federal Case Involving Massive Drug Seizure and Firearms

Posted by Joseph D. Lento | Jan 25, 2025 | 0 Comments

Pittsburgh hit the news when Dante Webb, a local man, pled guilty to major charges after feds shut down his massive drug and gun operation. The feds seized over 26,000 doses of deadly fentanyl, fluorofentanyl, and heroin, alongside crack, cocaine, and eight firearms—and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

At the LLF Law Firm, we handle complex criminal cases, including those involving federal law. The LLF Law Firm's Criminal Defense Team tells your side of the story. Contact us here or at 888.535.3686 for help with your situation.

A Dangerous Game: Drugs, Guns, and a Lot of Cash

It all went down in June 2022 when Pittsburgh police responded to a call. When they located Webb, he took off running, but not before leaving a mountain of evidence behind. After getting a search warrant for his residence, officers hit the jackpot: 26,000 glassine bags filled with heroin, fentanyl, and fluorofentanyl, plus large stashes of cocaine and crack.

But it wasn't just the drugs that raised alarms. Eight firearms were found in Webb's home, including untraceable Polymer 80 pistols and weapons that were loaded with extended magazines or rigged to be fully automatic. A forensic expert found that one of the pistols was fully automatic, adding a whole new level of danger. This guy wasn't playing around! The firearms were found in a duffle bag right under Webb's bed, conveniently located next to a safe full of drugs.

A Long Road Ahead: What's at Stake for Webb

With his guilty plea, Dante Webb is facing serious time behind bars. Federal court is no joke when it comes to drug trafficking and firearms charges. For the drugs, Webb could be looking at a sentence of 10 years to life in prison. Add on another five to life for the firearms charges, and he could be spending decades behind bars—if not the rest of his life. This is the harsh reality when you're caught trafficking in drugs and illegally possessing firearms. And if you think the fines won't hurt, think again—Webb could be hit with up to $10 million in penalties.
