Christine Quinn’s Husband Faces Domestic Violence Charges

Posted by Joseph D. Lento | May 26, 2024 | 0 Comments

The husband of Christine Quinn, one of the main subjects of the reality TV series Selling Sunset during its first five years, has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for violating an emergency protective order.

This the second arrest for Christian Richard, whose legal last name is Dumontet, in as many days. In the first instance, police were called to the couple's home in response to a domestic violence complaint. Christine Quinn alleged that her husband threw a bag in her direction.

There was a glass bottle in the bag, and it missed her, but it allegedly struck their toddler, causing an undisclosed injury. Christian was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

The LLF Law Firm Is Here to Help

If you have been accused of domestic violence in Pennsylvania, the stakes are high. Depending on the severity of the incident and your record, you could face jail time or significant fines. There is also the matter of child custody and/or visitation rights.

Legal representation is key, and the Criminal Defense Team at the LLF Law Firm can provide the advocacy you need. To set the wheels in motion, send us a message through our contact page or call us at 888-535-3686

Forms of Domestic Violence

In addition to direct acts of domestic battery like striking another person, there are other forms of domestic violence. These would include emotional and sexual abuse, theft, hurting animals, threatening children, limiting interactions with family and friends, and forbidding someone to work.

Many instances of domestic violence go unreported because victims do not want to get the perpetrators into trouble. In some instances, the victims do not have the resources to leave the abusive situation. Fear of reprisal can enter the picture as well.

People naturally envision men as the perpetrators of domestic violence, but females commit these crimes as well. A case in point: In September 2023, Olga Colin-Torres of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, was arrested on domestic violence charges.

Penalties for Domestic Violence in Pennsylvania

The penalty for domestic violence will depend on the crime that has allegedly been committed. In the California case, Christian Richard is charged with assault with a deadly weapon. If he is convicted, his sentence will be based on the sentencing guidelines for that particular crime.

For a relatively minor first offense, the penalty may be less punitive, like mandatory participation in a court-ordered anger management class. Penalties will increase in severity depending on the circumstances and the statutes that have been violated.
