Using apps like TextMe, TextNow, KidsChat, and Instagram, Michael Lee Sealover, Jr., 45, coerced five girls from various states, ages 11 and 12, and one 16-year-old, to send him nude photos, according to the Adams County Detectives Bureau. He then used the photos to blackmail the girls into sending him more photos, threatening to post their photos online and telling them their parents “will die.” He was charged with:
- Six counts of contact/communication with minor sexual abuse
- Five counts of photograph/film/depict on computer sex act
- Five counts of knowingly or permitting child and child pornography
- Four counts of criminal use of communication facility
- Three counts of sexual extortion-make/distribute material containing sexual conduct/nudity
- One count of corruption of minors
In early December, U.S. District Court Judge Jennifer P. Wilson sentenced Sealover to 25 years in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, and to pay $5,100 in assessments.

What Constitutes Child Pornography in Pennsylvania?
You should never take any sex crime charge lightly because the consequences can be devastating. Whether or not you are innocent of the charges against you or if the evidence against you is weak, you don't want to put your future into the hands of a defense attorney who isn't willing to go the extra mile to get the best outcome possible in your case. Child pornography is an especially concerning charge, often with even stiffer consequences. Under Pennsylvania law, it is a crime to photograph, videotape, or otherwise depict on a computer sexual acts involving a minor child under the age of 18. Intentionally viewing and willfully possessing these materials are also treated as crimes. Those charged with filming child pornography face an even stiffer challenge, as the law states, “It is no defense that the defendant did not know the age of the child. Neither a misrepresentation of age by the child nor a bona fide belief that the person is over the specified age shall be a defense.” This is why it is imperative that you take any child porn charges seriously and act quickly to defend yourself.
