Stalking can lead to all kinds of serious harm, which is why Pennsylvanian law deals sternly with it. King of Prussia resident Michael Bustin is learning that now.
The courts announced that the 33-year-old Bustin received a prison sentence for stalking in Bucks and Leigh County on February 7, 2025. It came more than half a year after he was arrested on June 1, 2024. However, he had been stalking two different victims for nearly a year by that point, as well as another victim in 2018.
Although these charges are serious, they don't have to cast a shadow over the rest of Bustin's life—and the same could be true of you. If you're facing stalking charges in Pennsylvania, contact the LLF Law Firm Criminal Defense Team at 888.535.3686 or submit a contact form to enlist their help.
Acting on Obsession
Bustin's documented history of stalking began when he was tried for loitering and prowling around his victim's home in Lehigh County. His sentence was 12 months of probation.
In December 2023, Bustin's next victim reported to the police that she had found a GPS tracking device in her car. The incident was the latest in a series of unwanted and uncomfortable advances from Bustin. Using “Meg” or “Megan” as an alias for his social media accounts, he had previously tried to friend the victim multiple times on Instagram, though she denied every request. After that, he consistently sent unsolicited text messages, in addition to dropping off flowers and obscene candy at her work and home. Eventually, he visited the victim at her apartment complex, saying that he might move there and asking for her phone number.
Later, Bustin moved on to a third victim residing in Buck County, whom he discovered on a dating app in 2024. A surveillance camera caught him attaching a GPS tracking device to her vehicle in her workplace parking lot. Also, while she was on vacation in April of that year, he broke into her home, disconnected her internet, and switched off her circuit breakers.
As a result, the police who arrested Bustin in June charged him not only with stalking but with burglary, trespassing, and harassment. He's still in jail, waiting for that case to go to trial.
