Raid Busts Alleged Philly-Area Drug Network
Per initial media reports on the case, which is still developing as those facing charges await trial, the following are key facts to be aware of:
- The drug network that authorities targeted in this raid allegedly protected itself with firearms. Supporting this allegation is the fact that authorities seized 20 firearms as a result of the raid.
- Along with the aforementioned firearms, authorities also allegedly seized 12.5 pounds of cocaine, along with other illicit substances. Specifically, search warrants related to the case resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, cannabis, MDMA, promethazine with codeine, various items of drug paraphernalia, and a total of $72,356 in cash.
- Around the time of the raid, authorities apprehended 17 individuals believed to be connected with the drug network. Three warrants remained open for other individuals allegedly involved in the scheme. Among those apprehended was Anthony “Bang” Blake, who authorities accuse of leading the operation.
- Suspects face various charges, some of which may vary depending on their level of suspected involvement in the network. These charges include felony possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy. They also face a range of firearm charges.
According to former Attorney General Michelle Henry, who was PA's AG at the time of the raid, “all of the charged defendants were traffickers.” The Office of the Attorney General's Drug Strike Force Section will manage the prosecution of the case.
