Raid Leads to Charges Against Alleged Philly Area Drug Traffickers

Posted by Joseph D. Lento | Apr 13, 2025 | 0 Comments

Earlier this year, law enforcement agencies from both Pennsylvania and New Jersey seized various quantities of illicit substances and other such items and materials in a collaborative operation that resulted in charges being filed against 20 individuals. These individuals allegedly participated in a network of drug traffickers in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Being accused of drug trafficking can have significant implications for one's future. If you're facing such charges, enlisting the help of attorneys with experience handling such cases is a proactive way to guard against violations of your rights.

Raid Busts Alleged Philly-Area Drug Network

Per initial media reports on the case, which is still developing as those facing charges await trial, the following are key facts to be aware of:

  • The drug network that authorities targeted in this raid allegedly protected itself with firearms. Supporting this allegation is the fact that authorities seized 20 firearms as a result of the raid.
  • Along with the aforementioned firearms, authorities also allegedly seized 12.5 pounds of cocaine, along with other illicit substances. Specifically, search warrants related to the case resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, cannabis, MDMA, promethazine with codeine, various items of drug paraphernalia, and a total of $72,356 in cash.
  • Around the time of the raid, authorities apprehended 17 individuals believed to be connected with the drug network. Three warrants remained open for other individuals allegedly involved in the scheme. Among those apprehended was Anthony “Bang” Blake, who authorities accuse of leading the operation.
  • Suspects face various charges, some of which may vary depending on their level of suspected involvement in the network. These charges include felony possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy. They also face a range of firearm charges.

According to former Attorney General Michelle Henry, who was PA's AG at the time of the raid, “all of the charged defendants were traffickers.” The Office of the Attorney General's Drug Strike Force Section will manage the prosecution of the case.

The Importance of a Strong Defense in PA Drug Trafficking Cases

Someone who is accused of participating in a drug trafficking scheme or network in Pennsylvania can face penalties that could significantly limit their freedom and overall future prospects. For example, the mandatory minimum penalty for someone convicted of trafficking more than 100 grams of a Schedule I or II controlled substance in Pennsylvania is five years in prison and a $25,000 fine.

Even if you're not accused of being a member of a major drug trafficking operation, drug charges can affect your employability, personal relationships, finances, and much more.

Protect yourself in these circumstances by seeking representation from legal professionals qualified to defend you against such charges. At the LLF Law Firm Criminal Defense Team, representing clients facing drug charges throughout Pennsylvania, that's exactly what you'll find.
