Summer Camp Worker Uses Camp WiFi for Child Sex Abuse Porn
Summer camp is usually associated with innocent fun and formative experiences for young children. Unfortunately, one summer camp employee in Butler County took advantage of his workplace’s resources to access child sex abuse pornography.

Misusing Camp Resources
Located in Slippery Rock, the Crestfield Camp and Conference Center is equipped with its own WiFi network to support its operations. However, former camp housekeeper Aaron Joyce used the WiFi for different purposes, distributing more than 200 images and videos displaying sexual abuse against children.
Through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program, Pennsylvania state police received reports of complaints and suspicions about online child pornography in two separate locations associated with 50-year-old Joyce, whose likeness appears in the account used to upload the images and videos through the Kik messenger app and the camp’s IP address in August 2024. Some of the victims were only toddlers.
Joyce’s wife—who claims ignorance regarding the severity of her husband’s pornography addiction—was present when the police arrived at one of the locations to execute a search warrant. She identified herself and other people she knew in the pornographic material that the police showed her.
What Happens Next
The Crestfield Camp and Conference Center assures its community that none of its employees, participants, or programs were involved in pornography. It further states that Joyce has not been on its payroll since May 16, 2025.
Instead, Joyce awaits trial at the Butler County prison with his bail set at $250,000. In late May, the state police filed charges of 205 counts of possessing child sex abuse materials.
Although the trial hasn’t started yet, Joyce already faces significant scrutiny and judgment in the court of public opinion. In many cases, accusations alone are enough to blacklist a defendant from jobs, prevent approval for housing, and strain or even end relationships. For Joyce, a powerful legal defense is likely his only hope for reclaiming anything resembling his sense of normalcy.
