Young Man Charged With Murder of Off-Duty Police Officer in Allegheny County, PA

Posted by Joseph D. Lento | Dec 22, 2024 | 0 Comments

Off-duty State Police officer Benjamin Brallier was murdered while jogging along the Montour Trail in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. The accused murderer, Anthony Quesen, was found nearly a third of a mile from the scene with cuts on his hands and bloodstains on his clothes. At the time of the murder, Quesen was out of jail on a non-monetary bond issued by district judge Xander Orenstein. But is that enough evidence for Quesen to receive a guilty verdict?

Murder charges are a serious matter, and the court of public opinion is quick to issue guilty verdicts that can forever damage your reputation even if found innocent in a court of law. If you're facing murder charges in the state of Pennsylvania, The LLF Law Firm's experienced Criminal Defense Team can help. Facing Previous Charges

According to a court administrator, Quesen had previously been charged with a mugging in the same park in 2023 while using the name Antonia Kaseim. The fact that Quesen was out on bail has caused an outcry, with at least one local government official calling for Judge Orenstein to resign.

However, bail—even non-monetary bonds—are part of the criminal justice process in the state of Pennsylvania. While public opinion may be against the judge who let Quesen out on bond, the law gave that judge the power to make that decision. Similarly, Quesen's previous criminal history does not indicate guilt in this case.
